Swapping US/European W123 headlights
Hey folks,
I have in my possession now two European import W123s: 1984 230e 1982 280TE Now, My 230e has Euro headlights, and I want to fit them to my (newly acquired) 280TE. The 280TE has US headlights. I assume this because I *think* it was imported to the US before it came up to Canada so American lights were fitted. It still has European bumpers etc. Anyway, the headlight wiring is different on them. Anyone know the easiest way to sort out the wiring so I can get my lights sorted out? Thanks! (and I'll also post some photos of my new collection shortly ![]() |

Try the Ebay seller bid4speedster. They have the wiring looms you need. Under $25.

I did mine a few years ago. Went from a 4 prong plug to a 6 prong plug. I don't have the time to search for my post, but I had pics as well. If you have some free time....

You can use the 6 prong plugs from the rear lights, direct fit and you can easily "re-wire" them by moving the pins around to correspond to the Euro lights. There are a number of threads on it.
