300e coolant temperature sensor failure mode

My 300e is stumbling badly at stop signs including stalling. It also struggles a bit starting when cold and I never see the initial high idle I'd expect at a cold start. I've measured the impedance of the coolant temperature sensor at 80c -- it's > 1Mohm which is a pretty clear failure.

I'd like to know if the stumbling/stalling is consistent with this failure --- clearly it needs to be fixed. Or are there other things I should also look for.

Geoffrey
