Exclamation 2008 C300 ABS, ESP lights on, replace just Dynamic control module?

So I'm tooling along one morning and "bing"on goes the ABS, ESP and XXX not working, look in the manual.

Code was read and says module electronics bad. I have found the complete abs pump and control module for sale everywhere, but is it possible to replace just the dynamic control module, as shown in this how-to:

ABS Dynamic Control Module Replacement Follow these step by step instructions for replacing the ABS dynamic control unit
Applies to: C350 (2007-14), C180 (2007-14), C200 (2007-14), C230 (2007-14), C250 (2007-14), C280 (2007-14), C300 (2007-14), C320 (2007-14)

Its a 2008 C300 4MATIC Luxury I prefer not to spend $600 + for a rebuild...... if it can be avoided...any help is appreciated

"2008 C300 ABS, ESP lights on, replace just Dynamic control module?"

Yes, it is a plug and play unit.

When the ABS control module failed on my 2001 SLK230, it caused the ABS pump to run continuously. I had to remove the fuse to get the pump to stop running. New A170 545 01 32 Module: $1,250.00
I found a wrecked 2001 SLK230 near me and the ABS pump assembly looked in good condition, so I purchased the entire unit for $150.00.
I swapped the control modules and my problem was resolved and the ABS/ESP lights did not come back on.

Good luck.

Pictures of used unit:

Here is the module after I removed it from the ABS unit I purchased.

Module installed on my car, as you can see, it's a tight fit. If you move the fuse cover and surround cover, it gives you just enough room to remove and install a new module.

Well boys and girls, replacing the Dynamic Control Module on a 2008 C300 means having to get a NEW (not rebuilt) unit and having the VIN written to it. It cannot be overwritten, eliminating your getting a used unit. Unless there is a magic way to erase the current VIN in a used unit, one is forced to buy a new one from MB and have a dealer install it.
Bend over......
