My mechanic had the tranny rebuilt in my 300ce for around $1600

My fathers 1994 sl600 cost just a bit over $1800 for the tranny rebuild.

My thinking is that the price should be within those ranges for a proper rebuilt tranny.

Both my car and my dad's car shift as smooth as silk and flawlessly now.

Mercedes dealerships have factory rebuilt/exchange transmissions you might want to check out also. Check out FastLane and see if there any deals. Several years ago I needed one for my past 300SD and I was very pleased and the warranty was great as well.
