any suggestions on how to repair a torn rear CV boot. I am sure I caught it early enough to replace the boot it rather than replace the axle. suggestions would be appreciated

if it's the outer joint, you can't do it. it has a crimped on metal band that needs a 700usd crimper to install. the inner is typical cv joint. good luck, chuck.

It is the inner one (closest to differential). I did not realize the band of the outer joint boot is different from the inner one. They look the same.
