Exclamation Trunk of 300E won't open

I have a 1989 300E the key has never worked in the trunk...... however when I unlock the passenger door the trunk and gas door along with all other locks unlock. Just the other day I went to unlock the door and nothing would unlock except the door with the key in it. now is there a way I can activate the vacuum pump to unlock the trunk and fuel door. I live where I don,t ever need to lock the trunk. or the fuel door . . . . . awhile ago I installed a new ignition switch and steering lock and it acted this way until I reconnected the key buzzer switch. It has worked fine ever since until this week. Now I am in a predicament my wife left a salad under glass in the trunk and no way to retrieve it.

Check the vacuum pump under the rear seats, I believe it's on the psg side and make sure all the vacuum lines are properly connected and that it gets power.
