What modern trans fluid should I use in my 69 280s

So the book I have says I should use castrol TQ which I think is the equivalent of dextron II. So stands to reason I can use the latest dextron product in it now. Is that a correct line of thought ? Thanks ahead of time.

I think the latest Dexron is Dex VI but Dex III equivalents are widely available. Either should work though I imagine Dex III is the more popular choice. I think Redline makes a synthetic version of Dex II.

Chevron MD-3 as a synthetic option to Dexron for the older cars.

Type F (Ford) is the recommended fluid .
