Engine Wiring Harness Interchange-1995 E320
Hi:
I ordered and received a good used (NON-bio-degradable) engine harness for my 1995 E320. Its part number is 124 440 5632. However, when I got the battery out and started to disconnect the old harness, I see that the tag on it has part number 124 440 2933. Do any of you know if these two harnesses are interchangeable by any chance, or do I have to send this one back and get the 2933 part? I'd sure like to be able to make the replacement one I have now work on this car, so if there's any mods I can make to it that would be great. I'd appreciate any advice you more experienced E320 owners can offer! Eric |

I ran into the same exact problem with PeachParts when I replaced my engine wiring harness. They made good on the part, though the one you need is more expensive.

Found an excellent used harness on eBay for $700, and consider myself lucky since I know these are more rare and expensive than the earlier ones.

Harness
The harness part# was changed mid-year on >95 124.032 chassis.
You can tell the difference b/c the later harness has a square plug for the sensor on the thermostat housing. The earlier ones have a round connector. There are other differnces, but that is the easy visual between early/late... Early being the 5632. Not interchangeable...........
