I'm still in the process of looking for a 123 diesel to buy. Today I looked at one in just about as perfect condition as I could expect for a 1982 car, and the guy is asking $3,900 (with 149K). Question #1)does this sound like a good price? What do these cars go for down south when it is normal for a car to be rust-free? Question #2) The oil pressure guage is pegged on 3 when driving and comes down to around half-way at idle. Is this normal? Seems like pressure shouldn't be so high while driving. #3)Seems to be a little rumble from the back (although it may have been overall rumble/vibration from the diesel). How much $ is rear bearing replacement. Is this something that would have to be fixed immediately? Thanks
Greg

What rear bearing? There are several in the rear of this car. The price sounds very fair. I have seen them go for much more! Oil pressure sounds normal to me.

I am refering to the rear wheel bearings (which is a pretty common thing to go bad). God no would I even consider the car if I thought the diff. bearings were bad. Can't imagine how much that would cost to fix. Since they don't commonly go bad I am just assuming if there is a rumble it would be from the wheel bearings. Thanks

I don't remember the cost of the job but I would take care of it soon so as not to damage anything else.
