W210 Sunroof grill vents

Is there an installation process for these? It looks like they snap in but cannot get the front lip or rear lip to snap into place depending on which you do first.

Does the whole sunroof have t come out and it is done from above?

The ones on my C280 ( W202 ) fall apart when I had the headliner recovered. The plastic was super brittle so you might be running into this issue is you are installing used ones. ( RE, they won't flex enough for install )

It is true that they don't flex enough so...what is the secret for re-installation if you don't need the headliner recovered? I got the old ones out of course because they were brittle but the new ones are to stiff to insert. There must be some way....anyone?

I tried removing a set from a car at the pnp to replace the ones in my 98 E300 that broke apart and fell out. The ones in the pnp car would not come out without breaking them so I can to the conclusion this is a part you have to get new..

Try warming the new vents before attempting to install them. It isn't hard to remove the sunshade and the job is easier with in on the bench.
