Steering play adjustment 1982 380 SL

My wife’s 82 380 sl steering is too tight. If you’ve ever driven an old go-cart, you know how direct the steering is. I want to get a tad of play in the steering. Is there a way to adjust it to add some play?

Order and replace the rag joint from the column to the box (genuine Only!!) And then you can adjust the box. 107's All need them now. I keep one on the shelf/in stock we go through so many.

The steering adjsument is a 5mm cap screw and a 17mm lock nut (fuzzy on the latter) and you turn the cap screw OUT to tighten the box. Small adjustments are key...and a little tricky as it's not the most accessible bit..
