If I leave my 99 E320 out in the sum with the windows down, and then push the the "express up" button, the glass will move all the way up, then come down two inches.

MB says the seal swells a little bit due to being out in the sun, and that there is no cure for this.

Anyone else seen this?

Yes, the same thing happened to me, good thing you brought it up. It thought it was a computer glitch.

I had the same thing happen in the previous E39 BMW 5 series, I had to use the remote to open the window ( it wouldn't open ).

Please post when you have a fix ( it happen to the right side rear.).

About 3 weeks ago I had a similar problem with my 1998 E320. The front passenger's side window would go up about 3/4 of the way, stop, and then go down to about 1/4 up. If I helped push it up from the outside while someone else operated the window switch, it would close fully. This indicated the electrical and mechanical parts were fine, so I just lubricated the window seals with a silicon spray for a quick fix. I need to find out if there is something better to use. The child safety feature thought something was caught in the window and would stop the glass from raising once it reached a certain point of resistance.
