W124 head gasket repair f-up

So I’m doing a head gasket and timing chain guide repair. Everything is going pretty smoothly till today.. It looks like I put the head on with the exhaust cam 45 degrees out of timing. I can’t spin it around due to the valves most likely hitting the pistons.

Just to double check:

I have to pull the head, out a new gasket and head bolts correct? Do I need to take the head back to the machine shop to have checked out?

Try this first, remove both intake and exhaust cams, reset crank to top dead center ot mark , reinstall cams to correct position , you align 3mm guide holes at back of sprockets, or small hole just above parting lines at both int and exh cams of head, at what position did you removed head?, cylinder 1 lobes on cams point up" rabbit ears" ,as long as you didn't try to start it your ok if you did remove cams and perform leakdown test you may not have bent the valves

Everything was aligned when removed. I didn’t double check timing before putting back together. Crank is at tdc and intake is lined up. Exhaust is the only one off. Haven’t started it. I got the upper and lower timing covers off to replace chain and guides. Was putting the chain on and noticed it the timing was off.

Ok I’ll take the cam off and reset.
