Talking Towing sl320 using a tow dolly

how do i disconnect the drive shaft on my 1995 mercedes benz sl320 so i can tow it 12 miles to my house using a tow dolly?

The car will not start, the battery is not the issue. When I turn the car key the fan comes on, there is clearly a good battery connection, but the engine does not turn over.

12 miles is short enough that towing with drive heels on ground and keeping under 35 - 40 MPH isn't a problem. Disconnecting the drive shaft is an exhaust and heat shield off process.

Try running the shifter back and forth a few times then try to crank, if non crank, try neutral.

95 should have a starter interrupt as antitheft, the small wire on the starter ( should be purple ) this is the solenoid trigger, see if you have power there. If no power, apply 12 V using a strong jumper ( 14 G min ) You should also be able to pick up the trigger wire in the passenger under hood junction box.
