Can homelink be turned off?
I’d like to add an auto dim mirror to my w124. Everyone loves to drive around with their high beams on for some reason. Was wondering if homelink garage door buttons can be disabled somehow while the car is off. I’d like them to only work while the key has the ignition on. My neighborhood has too many problems with homeless breaking into cars then just hitting the garage button to get into the house. Would splicing that power into a switched 12v make it loose it’s memory?

is it active all the time on some cars? The buttons in my E320 (2001) and GLK250 (2015) only work with the ignition on....in at least position 1
