1999 W202 M111 no start

Hi Folks;

I just replaced the engine and transmission mounts on our 1999 C230K with the M111 engine.

The car started and I was able to drive it off the ramps. Then the engine stalled and will not start. After that, all the engine will do is start momentarily but then shuts off. I am wondering if I overlifted the engine during the lift to remove and install the mounts. There was a moment when the engine seemed to suddenly release which I assumed to be the mounts releasing after holding the engine for 20 years. I did both mounts at the same time - if that makes a difference.

The check engine light is not on.

This sure seems odd to me but perhaps I damaged something somewhere. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Tassie

Look for dislodged intercooler piping or any other hoses starting from the air filter all the way to the engine throttle. There is a supercharger bypass valve that sort of looks like an engine throttle but really isn't.

Fixed!

Thanks for the response.

I had looked over the hoses and wiring before but I looked again with much more care and from underneath.

I then found that the duct from the top of MAF to the engine had popped off and was resting on top of the MAF slightly askew. Hard to see but enough to cause the problem. Also, much easier to see from below.

Thanks again.

By the way, the new mounts made a big difference in engine smoothness.

Cheers,
Tassie
