W201 dual aux fan removal:All but one screw out!
One of my two electric fans doesn't work. I've tryed to take them (they share a bracket) off and I've gotten all the screws and bolts and nuts off but one
![]() It didn't work last summer and the engine kept its temperature okey so its not the end of the world, but I would like to fix it.

Hasn't ANYBODY taken the fans out! How about on a 300e, they look the same.
Or maybe my nest question: how do you take the bumper off? |

Fine, I took the bumper off
It was twice as hard as the front bumper on my Peugeot, four bolts instead of two.
And I did fix the fan. Got it all apart and found one of the brushes had hung up. It looked like some adhesive or something had gotten in there. I just scrapped it out and put everything back together and it works. It doesn't turn as fast as the other one and makes a ticking sound but it works better than it did. My next project is to have the fans run after the engine shuts off, it gets awfully hot under there. I have a plan, all I need is the time. |
