'84 300D suspension
Should a shade tree machanic as myself try to rebuild the front suspension on a '84 300D (175,000 miles), or should this be left to the professionals. If it can be do where can I find some good advice and instruction.
Second question, the leather trimming on the soft top cover of my '77 450sl is coming loose. What is a go adhesive to glue this back on without hurting the leather? Thanks in advance. '85 300D (175,000) '77 450sl (73,000) |

If you can do wheel bearings you can do a front it. Pretty straightforward job. Alot of grunt work. Make sure you have the proper tool or pay an independent to press the new ball joints in. You don't need the spring compressor unless you replace the track rod mount which unless it is really, really shot you don't have to.
