Loss of oil pressure
The other night driving home at 3am in my 2001 s500 the front wheels felt like they were missing....the check engine light which is on for the map sensor....started blinking on and off....and I’m hearing crazy knocking....fast fwd to next day....I call my local Indy...ask if he’s busy and drive like 13 miles to his shop at 45-55 mph...knocking the whole way....
Put the car up on a lift....he found a blown oil line.... Question is....what’s the prevailing opinion on possible damage? Lyle...San antonio |

From the details provided, likely internal damage to the engine that is cost prohibitive to fix. Don't fix the engine, if you like the car find a good used engine and replace yours.
Good luck!!!

Are you talking about the hose for the ABC suspension?
If yes then you could've damaged the pump. Usually the hose fails due to a bad accumulator |

Wow, I never thought of that, jumped right to engine oil pressure!!! My old 123 TD did that from an SLS line rupture. Was a mile from home, fixed line and had no problems.
Good luck!!!

Yeah is this ABC? If so that is a lot of miles without fluid. Possibly fubar'd pump.

Hmmmm.......blown oil line? The M113 doesn’t have any engine oil lines, so I’m thinking it must be an ABC pressure hose.......but that doesn’t explain the flashing CEL. That would indicate a misfire resulting in cylinder shut down.
More info would be nice..... |
