An 'Agreed Value' clause on your insurance policy is definitely worthwhile if you have car that is above average. It is available from most insurance companies who usually ask for an independent appraisal. The added cost is not significant and it gives you peace of mind if something should happen to your car.

I think that all depends on the damage to your car. I owned a 1992 560SEL. So, I had a small car accident with a taxi. The damages were not so big, but they decreased a little the value of my car.
