Congrats. Glad it worked out. I have had three Mercedes totaled by my carrier and received not nearly this satisfaction in any of the cases.

An 'Agreed Value' clause on your insurance policy is definitely worthwhile if you have car that is above average. It is available from most insurance companies who usually ask for an independent appraisal. The added cost is not significant and it gives you peace of mind if something should happen to your car.

I think that all depends on the damage to your car. I owned a 1992 560SEL. So, I had a small car accident with a taxi. The damages were not so big, but they decreased a little the value of my car. Anyway, the experience was a little bit hard for me. It causes some big headaches. Luckily, I had a friend that worked as a lawyer for 1866hirejoe.com specialized in auto injury cases. He helped me a lot with all the papers necessary for the insurance company. Anyway, I repaired it very fast and I was satisfied.
