Reread your post when it gets over 80 c starts stalling ,when it acted up I could barely accelerate I had exactly that problem with a 300 ce turnout to be the eha , whats happening is when running in open loop its ok once it gets to closed loop or warmed up its supposed to adjust mixture via feed back throttle position o2 sensors temp sensors etc , with my 300ce the eha( electrohydraulic actuator) wasent working properly, causing lean condition it can be tested, test 02 first if old to make sure its working

My guess was eha as well. To test, simply unplug the eha and see if your car runs. Also, try the air flow potentiometer....just try tapping it. Do one at a time and test do you can find out which one it was should it work.

Simple test for the EZL/Ignition Module. When the car is stalling, or when it is stalled, try and ice pack on EZL/Ignition Module. If it works fine with the ice pack, that should be the issue.
Spent 3 months chasing the same, and replaced with a used EZL/Ignition Module for $80, and it has been fine. Good luck!

OVP Relay
The OVP Relay mentioned in this thread definitely affects how the car runs. My question is where to find the correct replacement relay. The one in my car is the Mercedes part 2015403245 with 7 pins. When I search Pelican Parts or any other for my car and this part all that is returned is the 9 pin part number 2015403745. Are these compatible or will replacing mine with a 9 pin fry something in the electrical system?

Thank you all for replying. A learning experience for this novice shade-tree mechanic... Took the cap and rotor off. Inspection "looked" ok, but decided to replace anyway. HT lines only 6 years old. EZL signal was good. kV's coming from the coil are good. So...new cap, rotor, and plugs later, runs smooth as can be.
Again, thanks to all!

So often the case. It seems to me that many people with these problems almost WANT the solution to be complex and expensive, involving ECUs, fuel delivery etc.
Start simple and, with these cars, ALWAYS ensure that the HT is 100% AOK. RayH |
