W210 - 4matic - at highway speeds, noise by gear shift
2002 E430 4matic 101,000
Just bought this car, so I have no history. Driving around town there is no sound from the gear shifter area, but over 60 mph there is. Sounds like something is rubbing against something else. The transmission seems to be running smooth. I'm thinking there is a bushing that needs replaced. Your thoughts and opinions are appreciated. What could be causing a spinning, grinding type of noise? BTW, does the W210 have a transmission shifter rubber thing like the W124 has?
