1970 250C no crank
Hi all
Working on my 42k mile w114 that was stored since 1995 because it “broke down”. I bought it from the original owners estate. I have a no crank condition. Also have no rev lights. Read a lot on this forum. I found No continuity at the neutral safety switch. Bought a NOS NSS. Same. No change. At the NSS, Tried to jump the 2 bigger purple wires together figuring they were for the starter. No difference. Also tried to jump to two smaller wires together - figures these were for rev lights. No lights. Here is where it gets weirder I have power to the fuse box fuses 1-6 only. The other fuses starting with 7 have NO power I do have power to the starter motors main lug with the battery connected. Tried to jump the starter motor and I get a click from a relay on the firewall. I feel I am close. Seems so simple. Questions. Which lug on the starter is the “S” ? Maybe I jumped the wrong one? Why would half the Underhood fuse box have power? Thanks all! Rich |
