W123 250 Carby model advice/tips please

Hi everyone, well those who know me, know that i've spent most of my time on these old mercs on the diesels variants. ( om616/om617 )

I now have a 250 that i'm putting some elbow grease on so it can earn my some extra cash as i have no job at the moment, but i can " wrench " on a car in the garage and then sell it to help with finances

So, i'm looking for a bit of advice/tips with this 250 engine.

It doesn't have a fuel pump under the tank, like the 280ce i had, did.

It has this third party 'ebay-looking' pump inside the engine bay on the fender.

Previous ownder said the engine wasn't getting fuel...

am i missing a pump under the tank, or a different pump in the engine bay or is it like the diesel where on the engine itself there is a pump that pulls fuel from the tank ?>

interior really needs some work. carpet cleaning and fixing and lots of pet hair, along with seat's aren't as supportive as they should be

are the silver things on the side of the block channels for oil or coolant ?

and the third party pump i was talking about

Also, any tips on tuning the carby ?

I believe it's a solex4A1, but we'll see when i pull the air filter housing off.
