The ride in my wagon is a little bouncy when two people are in the car and very bouncy when fully loaded.

First, is the ride of the wagon just plain more bouncy than then sedan.

Second, what should be checked in the suspension and why?

When the vehicle is loaded with more cargo or people (weight) the self leveling rear suspension compensates. You are welcome to have the suspension inspected, but I would guess it is the wagon's self-leveling rear suspension doing its job.

IF it is bouncing, the accumulators are probably blown out. I have replaced many with great results.

Well, I guess I shouldn't have used the word "bouncy". I should really have said that it "sways" more when turning, changing lanes, etc. I doesn't "bounce" as much as it sways. Kinda like the feeling of a land boat like an old cadillac. Could that still me the accumlators?

What tire pressure are you running?
Are you increasing the pressure according to the diagram on the gas cap cover?
Also, what kind of tires do you have?
I had a '95 E320 wagon with Michelin MXV4's and never noticed the problem you describe. I always upped my tire pressure when traveling with a full load of people and cargo.
Higher tire pressure might help.
