I've been having chronic problems concerning my AC in my car. There's a freon leak somewhere that no mechanic can seem to locate. I've spent a lot of money on R-12 only for the refill to evaporate in thin air after two or three days. The compressor seems to be working okay, and so is the climate control electronic dial. Is it worth fixing or am I just wasting money. The big (main hose) was replaced 4 years ago, and so was the compressor and dryer, and electronic climate control dial.

Have you put color dye in your A\C system.
try the (Fluoro lite) fluorescent leak detection tracer dye....just put tracer dye with new R12 freon in to A\C system then use
the fluorescent lite to find the leak.
check evaporator for leaks...just remove the wiper motor & A\C blower motor evaporator is locate under the blower motor.
good lock !

I have found that the dye is the best way to find those elusive leaks as well. Just put in about 1-2 oz of oil dye combination product and drive it untill the freon leaks out! The black light will find the green stuff quickly!
