I recently acquired an 84 300D. Dropped the pan to replace the turbo down tube and found a snap ring in the oil pan. Car ran and drove fine. Any one have an idea what it might be if it came from inside the 617?

edit: looks like this might be from the oil pump chain tensioner; guess I'm pulling the engine.
