w210 Engine mounts

Hello all.. I take it from reading other threads that my engine mount(s) have gone bad.. How hard are they to replace..? Any special tools needed ? I would at least think that the mounts would last a good long time...

I have not done it yet - I plan to do it. From what I know there are 2 mounts left and right + a transmission mount. I have pictures on how to do it for e300td only from Alldata.com. Yours is gasoline so I am not sure they will apply. You may also consider to replace the differential mounts (I guess you'll need an extractor tool).
If you have only 60k miles I believe it is premature. A diesel which works much harder the mounts needs to have them replaced arount 80k. Gasoline engines need to have mounts replaced around 100-120k.
Good luck.

Peter,
The website mentioned in my previous note is called www.alldata.com. I recall they sell you repair info about new cars for about $20/year for one car and $30 for two I believe.
I guess is makes sense - I think will be at least another 2-3 years before MBUSA releases the CD service manuals for W210. It is the only place that I know that has info on how to properly do work on your car or to make sure that whoever you hire to do it will do it right.
If you decide not to get alldata.com, let me know your fax # and I will fax you the exploded views I have (for e300TD).
