Mystery Noise

Driving home this evening on Mullholland I was diving into a sharp right hand curve when suddenly I heard a loud bang - as if I ran over a large rock. I imidately slowed and there was this clunking noise as if something was broken. I pulled over as soon as I could, looked all around underneath the car but saw no visible damage. I drove on carefully. The clunking sound seemed to crop up when I made right hand turns. It sounds like maybe a rock is stuck somewhere underneath where it can move but no drop out. Yet I see no evidence of this. Anyone have any ideas?
