Window switch issue
Trying to diagnose a weird window switch issue.
1985 300SD California edition. My passenger rear window will not go down when using the switch at the door. From the front switch, I can control both up and down just fine. From the rear switch (on the door) I can control up just fine. The motor is obvious working as I do have both up and down from the front. But also from an external battery using leads. I have 3 different switches all of which have the same response; up but no down. I've done the continuity tests on the switches based on the service manual and it appear the switches are functioning correctly. I believe it is something to do with the connector but the only thing I can think of there is a bad connection. I've adjust the female bullet connectors within the connector to no avail. Additional details: driver side works perfectly. Child switch is working and is/was set to allow movement during tests. Thoughts? Thanks, Spencer |

If they are the same, swap the switches L to R to rule out the switch. If the motor and switch are both good it must be wiring related. An area to check is inside the accordion boot in the door jam.
Good luck!!!
