Is there something I can do to muffle the clicking from my broken seat frame on my '9

My '97 E420 has the infamous clicking sound due to the broken seat frame. I only plan to keep the car another year or two and I understand replacing the frame is around $1000. Is there a spot I can grease up or spray insulation on (expanding spray insulation for home use) that will muffle the click a little?

Try this

Cotton in the ears.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I find it hard to believe $1000 for a new seat frame. Check out some independent uphostery shops, or even call some recyclers. The cover should still be good, and that is what is expensive. Most of all, do not let the frame puncture or wear a hole in the cover. Ed
