W210 - Passenger Mirror not tilting down

On the exception basis, the mirror on the passenger door properly tilts down when car in reverse.

the other 95% of the time, the mirror does not tilt down.

Guessing it is stuck, and occasionally 'breaks free'.

Your thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

Remove your mirror cover/housing and clean out the debris which may have accumulated over the years. You can also move the actual mirror (glass) itself to full deflection all ways (it'll click and protest) but should be fine. So you're kind of looking to 're-center' the mirror as it may have been bumped or manually pushed to the limit and now preventing full movement.

Just in case you didn't know, the mirror selector button needs to be pressed for the pass side mirror for it to tilt in reverse. If you already knew this, then disregard my comment.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I did not know the button requirement. Just tested it and poof the mirror worked.

so - now to keep things working, I'll press the passenger side mirror adjustment.
