Grounding gremlin on 300D
I appear to be having a grounding issue with my '85 300D. The fuel gauge is stuck a little past half, but I have noticed some slight movement on the needle. I took apart my instrument cluster, and it appears that I don't have any burnt traces on the circuit board; however, the solder on the connector came apart. I'm guessing that that's the culprit, in which case I'm planning on bridging the ground with a jumper wire. I cleaned the sending unit, but it wasn't that dirty. When I moved the float back on forth with my key in the ignition, I noticed the needle was moving as I did that. Do I have the right idea with re-establishing the ground connection on the circuit board, or should I try something else?

having run a nitrous kit on one car, I learned thru installation to run better ground than factory. From Battery to engine ground then chassis. Unibody cars are bad for grounding as their frame bend and crack.

OK. Nitrous kits are rather pricey. My dad resoldered the connection earlier today, so I'll see if that makes a difference.

For a nitrous kit? That's more than I'd like to spend.
