I have a 1987 300TD (US version). The mechanicals of my right mirror have failed. The mirror is fine and the housing is fine. But the mirror points down. I hear the motor purr but nothing happens. The mirror is also loose. I have it propped up to the position I want with tape. The question is--I found an new OEM mirror in Germany but it's not heated. Can I still use it? I'm in a moderate climate and do not care about that option.

Probably, if not, it may be time to part the car out.
