My Dash lights are out on my 300e 4matic. Is it a reasonable DIY (do it yourself) job to replace the bulbs? will I need any special tools, or should I just leave it to the dealer?
Thanks in advance |

First, did the lights all go out at once? It could be one of two other things, the potentionometer or a blown dash ciruit board. To remove the dash to check, push on the back of the dash from underneath.

Actually on a 124 you should lossen the speedo cable so as not to stretch it when pulling the inst. cluster.

Actually, when I reset the odometer, I turned them all the way down, and I had to fidget with the dimmer to get them to come back up to a visible level. (there were a couple of posts in the archives that talked about this problem that lead me to the solution)
So now I don't need to change any bulbs, (maybe a dimmer switch in the future tho) russla |
