560sl badge-tech help please

Please help! My MB badge was stolen off the hood of my 560sl. I bought another through parts place on this site.

My question is..

How do I attach the badge to the hood? There are two holes on the hood where it appears to go but there is nothing holding the badge down? I called the local MB dealer and they said that there wasn't a bolt or anthing but to set the badge down in the holes and it should be secure..Well its not. I feel that there should be something else..

Tech's please help.
Thanks,
rob

Use some 3M SUPER WEATHRRSTRIP ADHEASIVE, or 3M PLASTIC & EMBLEM ADHEASIVE.

Thanks..Should i put the adhesive right on the hood..it seems that if I put anthing it should go in the holes-is that what you mean..put the weather strip in the holes then the badge in?

There should be a small rubber gromet that plugs into one of the holes and the emblem should plug into the gromet. I have had mine off several times for waxing...

Jerry,
Thanks for your message.

There are no gromets. Whoever stole my badge also lifted the gromets..where do I find these? Is it a part I can buy at the dealership? or at this parts store?

I would check at a dealer. I can't cost more than $1 or $2.
