sunroof lube substitute

I've got some of the MB special sunroof lube (small quantity from a tech. friend) and used it now. However, before this fortuitous gift, I used Radio Shack Professional Lube Gel with Syncolon [PTFE (teflon)] and it worked just fine. Now, being able to compare the two, they seem to be the same stuff (although the MB lube is probably more silicone than PTFE). YMMV, but this has been a safe alternative for me versus $52 MB tubs. Try it at your discretion [DON'T use any petroleum based lubes (like lithium grease) as they seem to gunk up and deteriorate the felt slider pads]. FWIW
