"Check Engine Light Stays on"

I have a 1995 Mercedes E320 with 150,000 on it. Recently I have began to have a problem with the "Check Engine Light" comming on and staying on.
I have had the car to several different certificied Mercedes technicians and have
hade the following repairs made at their suggestion to correct the prblem:
Replaced 02 Sensor, Replaced wires to
computer, cleaned vacum hoses. None
of these have resolved the problem. When the tech have connected the car to the dignosis computer to see if there is a code readout to tell what is causing the problem they find no code. I should also stated the car is performing perfectly. The tech have all stated that the car is performing perfectly.

One tech stated that Mercedes had a problem with the "Check Enging linght
in the 1995 E320 Series. Does any one know that this is correct. Can you give me some suggestion to tell the tech hat to look that could be causing the problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks guys

Wecome to MercedesShop

There is another important module in the car which needs to be checked on this car for check engine lights. It's called the "Diagnostic Module". There MAY be codes in this module even if none are stored in the engine control module itself.
There is a bit of a known problem with these era engines for bad wiring harnesses. You should have codes in the engine control module if that was the case here though. Have them read out fault codes in the diagnostic module first.

This Diagnostic Module trips the CE lamp when it detects an Emmissions Related Fault and stores that code/codes.
You can access CE code/codes from the Black Box in front of the battery . Lift the lid .
You can get this code by pressing the button switch for 2-3 seconds . The code will then flash back a number of times at the LED next to the switch. [ you can check archives for in depth procecdures].
Post your findings and someone will tell you what the code indicates.
You can also erase detcted codes with the same built-in Led/Sw.
Your car has the last of this owner access system...it was eliminated the next year model with the OBDII systems.
