Front Wheel Bearing on 96 C280

Hi group,

Need to replace and repack the front wheel bearings on 96 C280. I was thinking of just purchasing the outer bearings and keeping the inner ones. the car has 110K miles

I have not performed the procedure on this car and would appreciated some detailed help.

Many thanks

Replacing bearings is not maintenance - it is a repair done when the bearings have been damaged or worn. if the outer bearing shows signs of that, replace the whole set. If all the bearings show no signs of pitting or scoring, and there is no sound or feel of roughness when rotating the wheels by hand (calipers swung aside), then just clean, repack, adjust.
