Looking for color code on 98 E320

Any of you guys know where to look for the color code on a 98 E320, so I can get my new side door mirror painted. I've been looking for it, and couldn't find it. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Kenny

I had to give the MB dealer the VIN #, from this they can determine your color.

If you carry your vehicle registration with you the VIN# should be on it.

Hope this helps.

Paintscratch.com

You can find your answer if you navigate Paintscratch.com. There, you can find a sketch of your car and where the codes are located. Or under Orders/How to Order, you can look up the color and find the code that way.

Post Color Code

Look in the trunk and up under the package shelf is a copy of the build sheet glued on.
On the sheet , in the upper left corner after the VIN, serial# and a couple of numbers, It should say paint, It should be a 3 digit number, 040 = Black,

The second build sheet should also be in the back of the Maintenance/warranty manual, It even tells you the brand of tires shipped from the factory.

What color is it, blue, black silver, I have a 98 E class sales brochure and could look it up that way also, It tells you the 3 digit # also.

Talking Paint code search

Please go to detailing forum, look for message from Hocky to diesselady on 16/9/02 relating on where to search in the front under the hood on panel in front of radiator... code plate. 2nd last line should have your code number. If it has an alphabet next to it, thats the one. Some don't have any alphabet next to it. 3 characters of the alphabet which should be in your service book on the last page on the top right hand corner. This is printed on a tear off type of computer print stuck to the back cover. Trace to paintscratch.com and find your colour. Colour name may not be the same as the German name, but the code refers to the paint mixture required.
