removing water pump 77 300d
I am in the process of replacing the water pump on my 1977 300d. I have the fan and pulley off. The pump is held on by five bolts. Four are easily removed. The fifth (lower left facing the engine) seems to be blocked by the bracket for the AC compressor. A socket will not fit on the bolt. Is there a way to remove the bolt without removing the AC bracket? If not, have people ground away the bracket to get enough room for access without having problems with the bracket later??
