Front Struts 190E
Ok a simple question I rknow, but how do I tell if my front struts are toast? I'm getting uneven tire wear at the outer edge. I did the traditional bounce test and the car came right back. There is no leaking of the struts. I've ordered new tires tires and don't want to kill the new ones. I realize I need an alignment, and given the milage probably need the struts, but I don't want to spend $300.00 for new struts if not required. The car has about 95K on the clock.
Thanks in advance. Steve

Typically the bounce test is used: Push the fender down and release. It should rise up higher than its starting point and settle quickly, no excessive bouncing.
Additionally, at around 90k it is common to see the front and rear sway bar bushings worn. Actually fairly easy to change, even for a DIYer.
