I have a 500SEL 1988 vintage. It is giving me a series of problems, some of which new friends here have been kind enough to help with (successfully, I may add!)

Now it is the air con. (And it's 30 degrees outside now!!) The rocker switch on the dash lights as usual but the temp stays as it is! I can't see a blown fuse and that's about the sum total of my expertise. Anything else I should look for?

The Mercedes dealer was less than helpful last time and charged me 50 quid for nothing.

Any thoughts anyone? We go on holiday in 2 weeks and I have a hard day's driving ahead of me............ And we don't want fifteen degrees and rain for our holiday. Not really ........... Thirty degrees *and* aircon will suit us just fine!!

TIA

Geoffrey

It sounds as if you have a leak. The expansion valve and the hoses leak the most hisoricaly.
