Can anyone identify this?!
I have come across a few 600 SEL cars in which one, two and as in this picture three of the intake tubes have daps of black paint!!
I did not make a mental note of any correlation between the number of paint daps and anything else related to the cars. I don't know if anybody else shares this with me, but occurrences such as these make me spend endless hours wondering why and how. Could it be a MB mechanic's ritual or something similar?? |

Looks like someone dripped oil on the intake manifold. I hate it when you get your car back dirtier than it was going in.

I'm pretty sure that it's not paint at all. What I think it is is rub marks from the under hood insualtion pad. That 12 holer is really squeezed in there tight. Even in a 140.

I am almost certain it was paint, but anything is possible!!
Gilly,
I am almost certain it was paint, but anything is possible. One of the cars is not that far from me and I'll make a trip to find out if it is as you say. Maybe now I can sleep, it has been a grueling few weeks without sleep. j/k |
