If it's a growling noise it's the oil pump. For a short time we were replacing them with "updated" pumps under warranty. The noise was still there but subsided after only a couple of seconds as opposed to a minute or so. It's quite normal( the colder the louder ), and I've never seen one fail, even after 200+ miles. Don't worry about it.
