W140 Door Panel Removal - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

Does anybody know the way to remove the interior door trims from the W140 series, namely an S320 1994. Looks like somebody had a go at some stage. I do not want to do any damage to the trim if at all possible. All suggestions greatly appreciated.

screw! Open the storage box and look carefully toward the front and you'll see a felt covered 'flap' that hides that screw.

After that, it a matter of using a door tool to release the plastic pop-rivits (that's what I call them) under the door's outside and then LIFTING up to release the door panel.

Theres a 'hook' apx in the center of the door that must be seated into its place to get it back together properly. It's obvious once you get the door panel off.

That looks like the door on your coupe, the sedan is quite a bit different. The tricky part on the sedan is getting the wooden part off that the seat switch mounts to. You need to slide a thin piece of steel, like a butter knife, down the rear edge of the wood part to release 2 pivoting levers to swing the levers down. Then the wood trim will pop out from the back. There is a screw under the wood trim. On the sedans, there are a couple plastic closing plugs with a screw under each one, these need to be removed. They are located near the hinge for the storage compartment lid.
The sedan I don't believe has the plastic "hook" you mentioned, this is unique to the coupe door panel.

coupe! It's bad enough but it does come off easily once you know how.

Not disagreeing with Gilly, just clarifying.
The butter knife must be slid from the bottom up at the rear edge of the woodgrain that holds the seat switch. There are two screws behind that (large phillips or 10mm headed bolts).
There is either one phillips screw going straight down under a plastic cover in the door pull or two screws going into the door under two little round plugs inside the door pocket that has folding lid (depending on model year).
The plastic trim at the door striker must be removed and the triangle trim piece at top front of door panel must be removed (pull straight out at top and then lift).

Guys I need some help! W140 92 Saden

I got the seat control wood panel off, I got the 2 screws hidden in the pocket off and I got one of the 10mm nut off.

I managed to pull the plastic clips and lift the panel as well!

HOWEVER, one 10mm nut is stuck. This is the one that goes 45 degrees upwards holding the handle onto the door panel as well as the door. Somehow the screw seems to be stuck. I can turn, turn and turn but cannot remove it. The screw is lose but will not come out. Feels like the nut on the other end is lose and not holding a grip when I turning the screw.

Any ideas??? Are there any tricks in removing this screw?
