The manual transmission just went out on my 1984 190e 2.3 with 190k on it. I am inquiring whether it is more cost effective to remove the trans and have it rebuilt or buy a remanufactured one?

There has been quite a few mods to this trans! Factory rebuilt trans is good idea. Just what is the tranny doing or not doing?
