Question 190e tranny electronically controlled?

Are the shifts in a 93 190e 2.6 auto electronically controlled?

Anyone ever swap the auto for a manual in one of these?

Thanx
Dan

It is a mechanical-hydraulic control set up. The first fully electronic transmission controls came in the 722.6 5 speed tranny in model year 97.
