oil pressure irratic on 2.6

hello
all the sudden my gage goes to 0 then to 1 at idle.when i rev the engine it goes to 3.oil level is fine any body experiencing this behavier.??????? thanks jose

You did not say what grade of oil you are using or how long it has been since the last oil change. Are you using OEM oil filter?
Oil pressure at .5bar at idle is not dramatic. What's you idle RPM? maybe it is too low.

the oil is 10w30 castrol the oil filter is from mercedes benz
the oil pressure is been fine for a long time. this problem just happen today but the low oil warning light is not coming on
so maybe the oil sending unit is going bad.??

the erratic gauge almost always means bad sending unit (on any car). I would replace that first. If it does not help, test the gauge next, then go to a mechanic and for $25 have them test the actual oil pressure. Sure beats killing yourself guessing.

update

hello to all
replce the oil sending unit at a $70.00 cost from the dealer
problem fix thanks to all for the advise
