126 body paneling

I need to get the rear paneling off my W126. The service manual says to unscrew the nut under the weatherstripping, which I did, and then it says to "unclip" the top from rear to front and then unclip the bottom from front to rear. That's all it says. The paneling comes out a little when I unscrewed the nut, and when I pull on the top, it doesn't want to let go. I could pull harder, but I don't want to break anything!!! I could also use something to pry it, but then I am even more afraid of breaking something or damaging something, like the metal underneath. Do I just simply need to pull harder or is there something I am not doing correctly?
